The Lucky Dawg

A longtime gathering spot here in Pembroke has taken on new life as the Lucky Dawg Tavern and Grille. The Lucky Dawg, at 242 Mattakeesett Street by Furnace Pond.Owner Michael Johnson and partner John Meade totally renovated the building,The nearly year long renovations included re-siding the building’s exterior, painting and adding windows to the restaurant. It seats 126 and has 12 TVs. There is an ice cream stand on one side of the building. The menu centers on four standbys: Seafood, steak tips, burgers and pizza. The Lucky Dawg caters to a wide range of customers. Families come in early evening. Sports fans crowd the bar at night. There is live music Friday and Saturday nights. There is an outside patio, called the Dawg Pound which offers horseshoe pits and a beautiful view of Furnace Pond.
